U S series E and H Savings Bonds sales began briskly in January across Nebraska and the nation. Omaha volunteer state chairman Marvin F. Oberg cites Nebraska sales at 8,604,123 with a 6.6 percent projected rise in E bonds from January 1966. Smoke clears as Sidney fire finds no blaze at Silver Dollar
Sidney Volunteer Firemen answered a 9 p.m. call to the Silver Dollar where they found heavy smoke but no fire after an over hourlong investigation. No damage or injuries reported. Authorities attributed the smoke to unknown sources pending further checks.

65 Percent Of Grads Seek Higher Education At Sidney High
An estimated 65 percent of Sidney High School’s 1967 graduates will pursue higher education, with guidance counselors mailing 134 college transcripts to colleges and universities. Nebraskan schools lead with 34 applications to the University of Nebraska, followed by 33 to Kearney State College, and numerous others to Chadron State, Wyoming, and distant institutions.
