Temperance Talk At M E Church Examines Liquor Trade
An audience at the M E Church heard Mr Wolfenbarger speak on The Devil Fish of Civilization linking Victor Hugo's devil fish to the liquor traffic. He cited 100000 liquor deaths, argued wasteful state finances, and predicted the traffic’s overthrow by midcentury. The address, though extemporaneous, was well received.
