Twelve Alleys Cedar Lanes To Open Wednesday
Cedar Lanes bowling center in Sidney will open its doors Wednesday at 10 a.m. owned by Robert Gunderson with new alleys equipment and air conditioning. The facility features automatic pin setters Tel-E-Fouls under alley ball returns Tel-E-Scores and offers free lessons and special pricing for junior bowlers and non-bowlers. It will operate seven days a week 10 a.m. to 11 30 p.m. Sundays 1 p.m. opening.

Sidney volunteer firemen answered two grass fires Saturday afternoon at nearly the same time and place. One call came at 1:30 p m from the Clark Fuller place ten and a half miles west of Sidney where trees and grass were out of control. A second call came from the Floyd Armstrong place six and a half miles west of Sidney.

Kimball Men Fined On Intoxication Counts
Frank Melchoir of Kimball was fined 100 dollars and costs in Cheyenne County Court for driving while intoxicated. His license was suspended six months. Companion Herman G. Fulbright of Kimball was fined 25 dollars and costs on an intoxication charge in county court this morning.

Oil Gas Field Expansion Pushes Cook Field Development
Banner Oil Co. of Scottsbluff advances its second development well in Cook Field north of Sunol Johnson No. 3. The drill stem test yielded 1 750 feet of oil and 95 feet of oil and gas cut mud with 15 feet of mud. The field ranks third in Nebraska and will reach 24 wells with this completion. Other crews, Cabeen Exploration and McDaniel Drilling, report substantial depths and oil gains in neighboring fields. Twenty two drilling notices were filed last week with the Conservation and Survey Division.

Chappell Man Innocent Of Jailbreak
A Chappell man, William Torrez, was found not guilty of attempted jailbreak by Cheyenne County court. Judge C W Smith acquitted Torrez who was jailed for 30 days for driving with a suspended license after inmates allegedly tried to escape June 14. Tools were used as a crowbar in the plan.

The Dalton firemen won first place in the Sedgwick Colorado meet. Sidney claimed runners up as Cheyenne County teams dominated four events with only one third place.
