Weather dictates early harvest in Cheyenne county

Despite nearly four inches of rain in June, surface moisture is depleted while subsoil remains enough to carry crops a while. corn yield may drop without more rain next month. Some wheat fields look promising, averaging about 20 bushels, though conditions vary across fields. The south table area is expected to yield well thanks to early rains.
