Blazing attic alarms trigger heat fueled fires
Fire alarms at three homes were triggered by overheated attic heat from 104 degree temperatures. Thermostats at 1244 Forrest Street 2422 Coronado Drive and another Coronado Drive residence set off alarms as attic temps reached 215 to 245 degrees. Farmers Suffers Heat Stroke And Wrecks Pick-Up
Ray Knapp a 53 year old farmer east of Sidney Nebraska was hospitalized after a heat stroke while driving his pickup. He apparently fainted near 8:20 am causing the truck to leave the road strike a telephone pole and then plow into a field. The vehicle was damaged but he suffered no injuries. Nebraska Highway Safety Patrol investigated the incident.
