4-H Club Meeting Showcases Sidney Judging Day
Four-H judging day was held in Sidney on Tuesday with about 180 members and leaders from Cheyenne Kimball Garden and Devel counties. Girls interested in cooking and girls room judging were in the majority, about 40 people judged livestock classes including horses owned by A A Fenske of Sundl and hogs sheep and steers owned by Albin Ol son of Sicney. Extension workers from Lincoln led activities and provided materials for canning cooking girls room and crops judging.

Broadwater Man Is Held For Calf Theft
Cecil Spaur of Broadwater faces Morrill county court charges of maliciously killing live stock after a dead heifer bearing the Remick-Duer brand was found in his yard. County Attorney Bern Coulter said similar charges will be filed in district court. Spaur, who said he killed the animal accidentally with a club while trying to scare it away, allegedly denied having any carcasses before the yard discovery.

Sheridan County Attorney Frank Aplan filed a charge of obtaining money under false pretenses against Jules H Johnson and two Lincoln men for defrauding farmer Dell DeHaven of an $800 stock certificate from the Home Savings and Loan Association of Lincoln on April 1 1936. The earlier Cheyenne county case against Johnson was dismissed at a preliminary hearing.

Poison Victim Has Chance Of Recovery
John Erskine was jailed Tuesday charged with assault and battery after Cecia Ligeon a waitress, was reported to have taken poison following a quarrel. Mrs Ligeon was taken to Roche hospital in critical condition. A signed statement to the county attorney by Night Marshal G E James says she was found on the rear landing of a downtown rooming house minutes after swallowing poison. Oiling Work Start Date Uncertain for 55 Block Street
The city has no definite starting date for the 55 block street oiling program. Mayor R E Roche said Inland Construction equipment may arrive this week but there is no assurance.
