Huge Storage Tank Ruined By Lightning Blaze Near Bridgeport
A lightning strike Sunday evening damaged a 240 ton oil storage tank two miles northwest of Bridgeport causing an explosion heard for miles. The top blew off and girders burned as fire consumed the crumpled shell. Officials estimated 100000 gallons capacity and said salvaging the metal. Property nearby was not endangered.

A fair sized crowd attended the annual farmers' picnic at Lodge Pole on Wednesday. Ralph Coad of Omaha, son of Mark M. Coad, plans to attend Oregon Trail Days in Gering on July 14 and 15 with historic documents and souvenirs to present to the Oregon Trail Days association.
