Christ fifth at Kimball Country Club Father’s Day Invitational
Bill Christ, who won the event in previous years, finished fifth at the 20th annual Father’s Day Invitational at Four Winds Golf Course. Steve Ruff of Scottsbluff won the tournament in a playoff over Jess Pilkington with Dick Bolin of Gering placing third after a playoff with C. L. Fanning. Christ’s total of 216 was two strokes behind the champion and he also won the day’s putting title. Mike Wilson of Sidney shot 120 and Dean Josten of Sidney finished fourth in the first flight. Christ had recently won a tournament in Yuma Colorado.
