Grain Storage May Be Tight
Washington AP The Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service urges farmers to secure storage space ahead of a potential record harvest this year for corn and soybeans. Officials cite limited storage, dock strikes, and transportation delays that disrupted grain movement last year and warn that storage expansion on farms may help farmers hold grain under price support loans until markets recover. Loans for storage and drying facilities have risen to over 112 million dollars in the 1971 72 year.
