Rain and Detour Cause Four Wrecks Over Weekend

Road Paving Bids Tuesday by County Board
County commissioners will open bids Tuesday at two PM for four and one half miles of paving on the east west road from U S 385 to the Egging Co plant southeast of Gurley. The road handles heavy traffic including trucks for steal and farm to market use amid recent heavy rainfall.

Light steers sold for 32.36 at The Sidney Live Stock Sales Pavilion on Saturday. Heifers 402-1b topped at 29.10 with fats 22.70 for fleshy cows 17-18 for butcher cows 16 for thinner cows and a cow and calf pair at 234. Hogs 200-230 lbs brought 21.50 to 22.25, with underweight hogs discounted 2 to 3 per hundred.
