Four Are Injured In Wreck Near Chappell
Four persons were injured, at least one seriously, when two cars collided head on at the bottom of Bentine hill on Highway 30 ten miles east of Chappell. All were taken by ambulance to the hospital at Chappell. Driver identities could not be learned. The injured were Mr and Mrs Corrad Shelland of Indianapolis riding westbound and Mr and Mrs LeRoy Smith of Bellville occupants of the eastbound car.

Douglas Reetz a Potter farmer was discharged from Memorial Hospital after treatment for chest injuries from a freak farm accident Sunday afternoon. A rope knot on an overhead door trapped the windrower as he backed it from the shop pinning him briefly until 12 year old Jeff Reetz backed the machine away. He suffered torn cartilages and ligaments but no broken bones.

Sidney youth fined for 100 mph speeding ride
Ferd Hernandez twenty of Sidney was fined 100 dollars plus costs in Scotts Bluff County Court Tuesday for a second offense speeding. State Trooper H. S. Corns testified a carload of friends accompanied him to Scottsbluff after Sidney events. Hernandez was timed at 100 mph by radar. His mother wired the money, but it had not yet reached the county jail. Judge Ted Feidler noted penalties range from 25 to 200 dollars.
