Columbus resident Ruth Shollenbarger is appointed year round camping services director for Guiding Star Girl Scout Council. Effective June 1, she brings 15 years as Ohio and New York camp director and led a camp at four national Girl Scout Roundups. Brownie Day Camp runs June 22 26 at Legion Park in Sidney. Man Injured In Auto Crash At Sterling Neighborhood
A Sterling man, Rolf Willy Gabor, 31, was injured in a Sunday morning crash in Sidney. His 1967 car struck the Cox home at 1242 Rose after veering across the curb. Gabor, thrown from the vehicle, was taken to Memorial Hospital and then to DePaul Hospital in Cheyenne for open bone surgery. He faces driving while intoxicated charges in Cheyenne County Court. Meanwhile Curless, involved in another crash on Osage Street, sustained front teeth injuries and faces reckless driving charges after his 1959 car, totaling the vehicle, hit the Merle Bobo home at 1459 Osage with about 150 dollars in damage.

Dorothy Castner Funeral Rites Held at Light Memorial
Services for Dorothy Castner 66, wife of Clarence Castner, were held Monday at Light Memorial Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Darrell Davis officiated. Gifford Hill Sprinkler Mfg Co will open its new Colby plant Thursday June 18 with 10 am dedication. The facility will produce the 360 Sprinkler System marketed nationally by Gifford Hill and its dealer network as part of the Agribusiness Division. Sidney Keeps AA Rating In Accreditation
The Nebraska State Board of Education granted AAA accreditation to four systems including Archbishop Ryan Memorial High School in Omaha, the first non public school to achieve the status. Also approved were Broken Bow Chadron and Wayne, while 23 districts retained AA accreditation. The State Accreditation Committee led by J Dale Flora reviewed findings on May 15 and the board accepted them at its Friday meeting.
