Scattered hail storms in the Nebraska Panhandle have damaged wheat harvests but overall hail loss remains near average. Cheyenne County saw heavy blows to a few growers while lighter areas show partial recovery. Moisture is favorable with rainfall from three quarters to over two inches. Agronomist J. C. Swinbank predicts a chance of a better than average crop if the weather stays favorable. The eastern wheat faces thin stands and leaf spot but pests ease. California tourists were injured when a car veered off Hi way 30 two miles east of Potter. Helge Malm 49 Los Angeles suffered a fractured left leg multiple lacerations and four fractured ribs. Mrs Malm was in shock. Nancy Carol Malm driver had severe lacerations on the right temple. Dick Malm was shaken but uninjured. Car rolled once with $1 damages.
