The Rev Henry Monnich of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Sidney Neb is named president of the Northwest conference for Nebraska as five Nebraska ministers join the new central states synod of the United Lutheran Church in America. Funeral services were held for Charles P. Hansen 59 of Cheyenne County at The Gehrig & Son Funeral Home. He died after a Monday discovery, likely from a stroke. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery. Born June 19 1894 in Mankato Kansas he served in WWI and moved to Cheyenne County in 1940 then Sidney. Survivors include two brothers a sister and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral plans for Norman Frahm, eight, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Frahm, set for 2 pm at Light Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. Harold B. Taylor in charge. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery under Gehrig & Son. pallbearers include Theodore Tillman and Dr. M. C. Sherrerd. Norman suffocated when a large sand pile at Ready-Mixed Concrete Co. buried him after he slipped into a central pit drawn by a conveyor. Hundreds helped in the rescue as the pile shifted and sand was removed.
