Smoky Hill Air Base Salina Kansas will send three B 29 bombers to Sidney Saturday morning June 25 arriving at eleven. They will fly an east west run at five hundred feet then return in pyramid formation. Planes from the U S Air Force 301st Border Group. It will be routine training flight. Golden Spike Funds Boost Fort Sidney Days
Funds for the 1949 Fort Sidney Days were boosted when Ernest Worden presented a $486.17 check. The amount combined the original Golden Spike Days balance, plus proceeds from a concession run by Union Pacific employees nine years ago. The money, idle since 1940 in The American National Bank, was turned to the Fort Sidney Days non profit association to support a larger three day celebration June 23 to 25 and to establish a carry over fund for future planning.

Kimball Woman Hurt In Nighttime Truck Crash
Mrs. Myrna McNealy aged 19 of Kimball was hospitalized in good condition after a late Monday crash on Highway 30 east of Potter. She suffered back and neck injuries with bruises. X rays showed no fractures. John Hartman 18, also of Kimball, was driving the 1946 Dodge pickup when he lit a cigarette and veered onto the shoulder. The truck rolled once. Hartman had a wrist laceration and was less severely injured.

Skating Rink Reopening Plan Seen By Zikes
Sidney youngsters will be told the Zikes plan to reopen their fire scarred roller skating rink. Dr C W Zike said repairs start after insurance adjustors finish estimates of damage and operations may resume in thirty to forty five days depending on help and materials. The rink was damaged by a Memorial Day fire with no cause yet found for the explosion at about 6 30 p m.
