Five wildcat oil wells approved in Cheyenne County
The Nebraska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission approved five wildcat drilling locations in northeastern Cheyenne County. Toltek Drilling Co. and O'Donnell and Uwing, Inc. will operate the program with No. 1 Bailey under way first. Other targets include No. 1 Bruns, No. 1 Micek, No. 1 Wandruska, and No. 1 Jurgens. Additional wells are planned at Lucas, Sell, and Sioux Army Depot sites as exploration continues in the area.

SHS Band Gets Rose Bowl Bid
Sidney High School's marching band, praised for its regional strength, received an invitation to perform in the Rose Bowl Parade on New Year's Day 1966 in Pasadena, California. O Hollarans Attend Omaha Ceremony for Bishop Honoree

George W Rohde 64 of Gurley Neb died suddenly at his home Saturday morning of an apparent heart attack. Mrs. Margaret Irene Cunningham, 90, formerly of Sunol and Gurley, died Sunday at Memorial Rest Home in Sidney after four months there. Services Wednesday at 10 from Craig Mortuary, Rev. Harold Massie officiating. She leaves three sons Warren, Lynn, and Roger. two daughters Martha Parrish and Margaret Allington. 16 grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Heart fund memorial.
