Whittaker Case Report Sets Forth Court Findings
A court of inquiry in Cadet Whittaker’s case delivered a final report. It disputes his claimed wounds and motives, asserts Whittaker likely wrote the warning note, and states he was not fully unconscious during early April 1880. Whittaker remains in confinement awaiting war department action. The piece also notes May debt reductions and telegraph rate cuts by American Union and Atlantic & Pacific.
