Juniors Avenue Triumphs Over Scottsbluff Then Drops to Torrington
Sidney American Legion Junior baseball earned an 8 6 win against Scottsbluff and a 5 4 loss to Torrington over the weekend. Coach Jim Lodes praised two fine games. Dave Koza hit a sixth inning home run for Torrington, his twentieth of the season, lifting them past Sidney. Gene Lodes, Schilreff and Mike Rea led Sidney with timely singles and Runion doubled in a third, as Rich Lien chased Koza’s drive in center field.

The Sidney Mens Softball League schedules an All-Star game at Legion Park Field on August 10 at 8 p.m. Admission is 25 cents for students 12 and older and 50 cents for adults. Sponsors will pick five players from each team and two coaches will select three of the five to play.
