Slow Progress on Sioux County Test Drillers

Drillers at the Agate test oil well of Union Oil in Sioux county pulled a 10 foot section of drill stem yesterday. About 3,500 feet of pipe remains in the hole near 7,000 feet. At the Felmont Kimion test well depth reached 2,600 feet on the Sandford structure. Water shortage slows operations. Felmont uses two wells and trucked water from the Niobrara river, hoping deeper drilling requires less water.
