Albert Kruse 79 longtime Sidney school janitor died July 24 in Marinette Wisconsin after six days illness from pneumonia. The body was brought to Sidney for funeral services Monday at Gehrig Funeral Home with Rev Dan Allen of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed at Green-Wood Cemetery with pallbearers Earl Haworth E S Sherrerd Sol Willis McKinley McIntosh Leo Osborn and H F Beckmann. He was born January 30 1874 in Davenport Iowa and moved to Sidney as a boy. He married Sophia Urbach March 2 1903 at Sidney. Surviving are a son a brother Chas Bloomington California and two grandchildren. He had lived in Marinette with his son Myron for 17 years and was a Woodman of the World member.

Fires Reported By Sidney Fire Department Last Week
Three minor fires were reported by the Sidney Fire Department last week. A wheat field blaze north east of Sidney burned about five acres. A transient harvest crew’s combine burned completely nine miles east and seven miles north of Sidney, south of Brownson. A stubble fire east of Sidney near noon Saturday triggered a call but caused no damage.
