Haying time has returned and the mower gong is heard. Asa Rennsburg and Patrick Rowlan added hay stackers to their gear. Rowlan was rounding up work Saturday before haying. The second alfalfa crop is nearly all in the stack and the yield is not as good as the first due to dry hot weather.

Nebraska dates of sale span July 31 to August 9 with return limits Aug 10 and Sept 30. rates include one fare round trip with specific certificates and deposits. Mr Davin J Foster and Miss Fanny Tvaruzek were married Wednesday evening by County Judge Raymond at the residence of Mr and Mrs J E Anderson. The bride has long county ties and many admirers while the groom has been an assistant to the target at the station and is ordered to report at Alliance for a new posting.
F B Moore reports in a sister letter from Nome City Alaska dated July 4 that thousands fill the streets which are nearly impassable. carpenters earn 1 7 per hour and machines crowd the beach while claims lack water for sluicing. 15 per day painting and 30 for longer work glimmer. small pox feared amid a bustling, unsettled boom town atmosphere.
William Haynes died at 2 a m on July 18 after a year of ill health from tuberculosis. The longtime settler aged fifty four leaves a wife Mrs Ella Haynes and many friends among local stockmen. Services were held at Beck & Co undertaking rooms with Rev E C Horn and the body was shipped by train to Appleton City Missouri for interment.
The skating rink hosted a Sidney Band bull night with large attendance and a successful open air concert. Citizens praised the first class park, sought band prosperity, and approved funds for uniforms. Ladies in charge of supper served well, boosting patronage as the Sidney Orchestra performed and dancers filled the floor. Net receipts totaled about 80 to fund uniforms.
