New Plans Consider Tourism Agency Shift in Nebraska
Two proposals to move tourism promotion from the Game Forestation and Parks Dept to the Agriculture Dept were presented to a legislative study committee. One plan would create a separate agency with equal status to Resources, while the other would place the new body under Resources. Proponents urge a larger biennial appropriation, around 200,000 dollars, to develop attractions and coordinate efforts across about 14 agencies. Nebraska needs a focused centennial push in 1967, officials say.
