Reservoir plan centers on Colorado site near Sterling

Colorado advises a reservoir under the irrigation law with first construction in northwestern Colorado. Sterling reports 39 townships along the Platte from Sterling toward Nebraska were withdrawn from entry by Washington telegraphic orders, though local offices say Cheyenne county lands remain open. The proposed reservoir area covers about 900,000 acres in Colorado and Nebraska fed by South Platte and Pawnee Creek, two miles west of Sterling in the Pawnee Basin.

Former Sand Hills ranchman Henry Tracy Arrested on Rustling Charge

Henry Tracy was arrested in Alliance by Sheriff Babb on rustling three horses and a colt, brought to Sidney for arraignment before County Judge Tucker. Tracy pleaded not guilty. hearing set for July 31. Bond set at $500, or he remains jailed. Complainant Robert Hurt, a ranch employee, claims theft occurred about April 1.
