Henry Franklin Ackerman longtime Sidney resident and carpenter died at his home after a lengthy illness. Born November 10 1861 he came to Sidney over 40 years ago and built community ties through business and social work. Dalton Farmer Survives Lightning Strike on Barn
C. A. Baker, prominent Dalton farmer, narrowly escaped death when lightning struck his barn last Friday. The bolt killed one horse and knocked Baker and three other horses to the ground. He was unharnessing the teams and stood about six feet from the horse that died. No fire followed the strike.
