Kimball youths placed on probation by judge
Two Kimball youths held on assault charges were placed on probation by District Judge John R. Kuns with cases continued indefinitely. Kenneth Marshall 18 and Frank Dickson 17 faced charges of assault to commit great bodily injury after threatening other youths with a loaded shotgun on June 29. They remained in Kimball County jail since then.

The Ohio Oil Co moved its rig to a new location in the Reimers area northwest of Gurley to test if the prolific sand there extends southeast. The Scherer No. 1 location sits in Section 23 16 50, south of Bird well No. 1, which yielded 2,520 feet of green oil in the Dakota sand. Ohio hopes the Reimers-like sand will appear at Scherer, after thinning at Birdwell and a failed Sejkora No. 1 in Perkins County ends Perkins County oil prospects for now.

A drill stem test in the D sand at Dorman No 10 Thursday morning showed another producer on the Ginther Warren & Ginther lease. Testing from 4571 to 4804 feet, the well flowed in 22 minutes, reported Ralph Warren. Coring will continue to the J sand, with potential for more production even if nothing more is recovered there.
