Girl Shown Mutilated In Auto Accident
An auto collision between two cars at West Sixth Street and Second Avenue left Charlotte Goodale 15 severely mutilated and several others bruised. In one Buick from Joe Habler, Mrs. Habler and three children rode with Marke Habler on the left running board while Charlotte and Mary Maher stood on the right. The other car, a Sherrerd sedan, carried Mrs. Sherrerd and seven others. none were injured. The crash occurred while returning from a Knights of Columbus picnic at Krueger's Lake.

Woman Attacked in Broad Daylight Near Sidney Home
Mrs. T. H. Wells was beaten kicked and gagged by an unidentified man Friday in broad daylight at her Sidney home in a residential area. She survived with injuries and is recovering in Denver. A $600 reward was posted, and police traced the case through a rabbit sale diversion. Letters signed BK.K.K were sent to Mrs. Wells beforehand, warning her to move or face danger. The Wells family had moved to Sidney from Denver in February.

District Judge Tewell approved the receiver's sale of the former First National Bank of Sidney properties to Clayton 8 Radcliffe. The package includes the bank building with fixtures, the Rasch barber shop building and hotel annex, plus four houses in Clarkson's addition, totaling 222000 cash. Bank block frontage is sixty seven and a half feet. Immediate possession given. annex lease runs four and a half years.

First Bargain Day Sale Huge Success in Sidney
Sidner's first trade extension and friends making day held Wednesday drew crowds before dawn and kept stores open until 9 pm. Fifty four merchants offered bargains and reported strong sales, aided by visitors from surrounding towns. The day featured free entertainment, a noon chamber lunch, a 200-person early picture show, a rest space, and an open air band concert. Merchants plan an August sale.

Lincoln highway at Lodge Pole to open soon
County highway commissioner Bill Billeter says the Lincoln highway at Lodge Pole will be opened within a week or ten days. The road is finished except for graveling, with a gravel contract for a mile and a half of the four mile stretch. When opened the road will be soft but not rough.
