Cheyenne County Tax Abstract Removed From Questioned List
Cheyenne County Assessor Roy Gish said he will not appear before the State Equalization Board in Lincoln to justify the county tax abstract. State Tax Commissioner Fred Herrington called him about the matter. The 1958 assessments show lower motor vehicle and intangible values, higher cattle values, and similar real estate values, with a total valuation loss of about half a million dollars from 1957.

Sterling Blaze Victim Dies After Plane Fire
Johnny Montano, 30, died in a Sterling hospital after extensive burns from a grasshopper spray plane fire early Sunday. The blaze consumed 85 percent of his body as aerial spraying operations continue in Colorado. Elmer L. Kerber of Pueblo is in fair condition after his spray plane struck a power line 11 miles south of Wiggins, suffering multiple injuries. Pilot Robert Venable escaped unhurt. the cause remains undetermined as photographs are reviewed by a Civil Aeronautics Administration examiner. Montano’s body will be returned from Phoenix. he is survived by a wife and three children.

Accidents Create Ditch Damage and Truck Losses
