Hog Price Rise Is Continuing
Lincoln An expected summer rise in hog prices began in early June and is continuing through July, per Dr. Everett E. Peterson, Extension economist at the University of Nebraska. He notes the peak will be below last summer, with late summer and fall prices likely to hold up as fewer pigs under 120 pounds were on farms June 1. The June 24 pig report shows 45.4 million head on farms in 10 corn belt states, 400,000 fewer than in June 1967. Boost Nebraska.
