The W. T. Kniegal oil well drilled by the Ohio Oil Company reached 3945 feet yesterday morning. Harold H. Healy, Casper branch manager, says the crew expects to strike the same sand as in Mary Egging No. 1 within the next five hundred feet, likely in a few days. Production at Mary Egging has held between 200 and 218 barrels daily, with the recent week slightly higher. A new location is planned and an east offset is suspected, though not confirmed. Ohio officials remain tight lipped about new sites, pledging orderly development.

William Lee Hecker 18 of Sidney died when his boat capsized on East Kimball Reservoir Sunday afternoon. The other three youths were rescued after a long search by Kimball fire department and volunteers. His body was found around 9 pm as moss hindered fishing gear. watch stopped at 2:26 pm. A two car collision on Highway 30 one mile east of Sidney Friday morning caused an estimated $150 in damages. Duane Hesselbalch of St. Edwards Nebraska drove a 1949 Ford convertible and Dale D. Spilman of San Diego California drove a 1939 Chevrolet sourer. Sheriff W W Schulz said the Ford halted suddenly due to traffic ahead and the Chevrolet rear ended it, causing about $50 to the Chevrolet and $100 to the Ford.
