The Sidney community celebrated a quiet Fourth with many staying home while a crowd traveled to Bridgeport for its first Valley City Fourth. A parade led by Marshal Lee and L. B. Cary opened events, followed by a program with Jas L. McIntosh and Fred Wright. Rain halted baseball and dancing continued into the night as returning riders reached Sidney after an eight hour trip.
