Sidney reports 71 residence permits in six months
The city clerk Gordon R. Tobin notes a total of 125 permits issued in the first half of 1952 with 71 for new residences valued at 1,003,450 dollars for the period. June alone accounted for 406,200 dollars in permits, surpassing annual totals from 1945 and approaching figures for 1946 and 1948.

The American National Bank declared its usual five per cent dividend at the annual stockholders meeting on June 30 and authorized transferring five thousand dollars to the surplus, lifting capital, surplus and undivided profits to 368,432.29. Rites Saturday For Mrs. Lloyd In Elm Creek Neb
Funeral services are set for Saturday in Elm Creek Nebraska for Mrs. Katherine Lloyd 75 who died after a two week illness. The Gehrig Funeral Home is in charge and she will be buried beside her husband Ray Vernon Lloyd. Survivors include daughters Mary Hart and Leola Sweet and sons Elmer Joe and Les Lloyd along with thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Her siblings are Lille Cowdsey and August Daul.

Two Gunmen Sought After Dix Oil Field Shooting
Kimball County authorities seek two gunmen after a running gun battle south of Dix. T. E. Thomas, a former California officer, says he fired four shots at a big black car with two men. The exchange occurred on a country road near the Colorado Nebraska line. Thomas believed he hit the car. No motive established. car bears California plates. Thomas worked in the oil fields six months.

Cole Sentenced After Guilty Plea In Gun Theft Case
