Declaration of Independence signing dates and vault at National Archives

The Declaration was approved July 4 1776 and signed by John Hancock with attestation by Charles Thomson though most signatures followed later. It traveled through multiple capitals, faced deterioration from ink loss and sunlight, and now rests in a National Archives display. For Bicentennial year it will be shown round the clock from 6 pm today to 10 pm July 5.

Florence Bank Returns as Nebraska History Museum
