The Nebraska Department of Education told the Appropriations Committee another 49 million dollars is needed to fund handicapped education through June 30. Francis Colgan said about 23,500 children are enrolled, totaling 136 million for fiscal 1975, with 644 districts involved seeking 90 percent cost coverage. Education Commissioner Anne Campbell noted today as the final day for districts to request certification.
