Chosen People Lesson for February 2 1958
IST church members are urged to recognize the privilege of church membership. The week’s Bible passages are highly suggestive and deserve careful study. The message emphasizes that the letters of the New Testament were written to churches and urges readers to see the meaning for the church as a whole.
The Church as a Royal Priesthood and Holy Nation
Sint Peter describes Christians as a chosen race and royal priesthood, part of a unified church rather than scattered individuals. The church, a holy nation, represents God in the world, living by higher laws than earthly kingdoms and spreading love without earthly boundaries. Also noted is the 1957 U S Strategic Air Command record flight of three B-52s covering 24,325 miles in 45 hours 19 minutes.
