Stable Farm Outlook Seen At Meet Here
Lester Gillette of the Farm Credit Administration in Omaha predicted a fairly stable farm outlook for coming years at the annual Sidney Kimball National Farm Loan Association meeting in the City Auditorium basement. He noted prices should stay steady if war is avoided and surpluses can be reduced to manageable levels. The group’s 1954 loan activity reached 250000 borrowed in Cheyenne and Kimball Counties, with 140000 in applications pending and expectations for higher loan volume this year. Spiker Harold Spiker and Millard Musil were elected to three year terms on the board, with Lawrence Engstrom filling the unexpired term of the late Joseph Larson. Directors include Robert Cape and Peter Bourlier. Ladies of St Martha’s Guild served the noon meal.
