Attorney Named For Condemnation Underpass Project

Extension Study Course Planned for Ten Week Session

Funeral services for Jess Edwards Clay 54 who died last Thursday in Cheyenne County Memorial Hospital were held at St. Patrick’s Church. Rev Fr Albert Albel officiated. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery under Gehrig & Son Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Commodore Goings Rex Ross Frank Estrada Thiene Avile Daniel Estrada Benjamin Estrada. Clay born June 7 1901 in Longmont Colorado moved to Kimball in 1946 and worked at the Sioux Ordnance Depot from 1952 until illness forced retirement. He married Nona Bisbee in June 1928 and is survived by a daughter Frances Ross and six siblings plus two dozen relatives.

Miss Bonnie Lindau Named Cheyenne County Home Demonstration Agent
Miss Bonnie Lindau, senior in the College of Agriculture at the University of Nebraska, was elected Cheyenne County Home Demonstration Agent by the county extension board. She succeeds Mrs Verlin Livingston, who resigns effective March 31, and will begin work June 18 after graduation. Lindau, native of Wahoo, has been active in Saunders County 4 H work and previously clerk-typist in Saunders County Extension. She also spent seven weeks in the Cheyenne County office last fall.

Sidney hosts the Miss Nebraska Pageant June 12 13 as the Sidney Jaycees lock in a contract with the Nebraska Jaycee organization. Dan Duncan says 15 to 20 entrants are expected from 16 Jaycee chapters statewide with a local Miss Ft Sidney pageant planned for late May. The winner will advance to Atlantic City in September to compete for Miss America.

Nordberg Manufacturing reports a 3 200 kilowatt generator will be shipped to Sidney Municipal Power Plant in early April after dismantling. Steel beams for remodeling are being machined in Des Moines. The upgraded engine raises plant capacity to about 5 000 kilowatts, with current peak loads well above last year.

Bus Service Ended by Wade Pool Joining Urged
Wade Bus Lines which operated between Sidney and the Sioux Ordnance Depot discontinued service Saturday. SOD officials received notice last week of the plan to quit. A morning and evening run will operate between Sidney and the depot until Friday evening, after which no service remains. This week buses leave Sidney at 6 30 a.m. and from the depot at 4 15 p.m. Depot authorities urged employees to arrange car pools.
