Bert Gillespie Dies Rites On Wednesday
Bert LeRoy Gillespie an early settler in western Nebraska died Saturday and was buried Wednesday in Dalton cemetery after services by Rev. Donald L. Daly at Dalton Presbyterian Church. Born March 12, 1874 in Iowa he homesteaded near Dalton in 1907 and called Bridgeport home. He married February 19, 1913 in Dalton to the Reinmuth who died earlier. Survivors include son Donald Gillespie in California daughter Mrs Gene Baker of Broadwater brother Clair Gillespie of Broadwater and six grandchildren. A daughter Marjorie died on March 7.

The Ohio Oil Company's gasoline plant, three miles north of Bid ney, is nearly finished and tests have been completed. Expected to be ready next week, the plant will strip excess liquids from natural gas for fuel and power uses and will require between twenty and twenty five permanent employees.

In twenty one months since exploration began, Cheyenne County has seen eighty four wells drilled with about three million dollars spent.
