A remote wildcat in southeastern Harland County Nebraska tests oil shows in the Lansing Pennsylvanian at No 1 Thompson C NE SW 34 IN 18W. W E Wickster reports 180 feet of heavily oil and gas cut mud on a one hour drillstem test. Further tests at the Harlan prospect are likely. Also notes historic Pennsylvanian production in Harlan County and planned tests by Superior Oil near Nygren in Saunders County. About 75 percent of northern Rockies forest fires are caused by lightning.
