State Game Commission vetoes duck blinds at Lake McConaughy
Lincoln The State Game Commission Friday voted against constructing duck blinds or permitting commercial hunting at Lake Ma Conaughy. The action followed peti tions signed by 500 residents urging against blinds. The panel authorized Mel Steen to negotiate with the Bureau of Reclamation for possible game management rights and recreation duties in the Harlan County Reservoir area. Leon Sprague of Red Cloud was elected chairman and Don Robertson of North Platte was named vice chairman. The Bureau would back Steen’s plan to pair water conservation with more Nebraska recreation areas.
