Omaha reports the American National Cattlemen's Assn. urged a national vote to continue or repeal the federal income tax amendment. The resolution passed by a two thirds-leaning standing vote after debate on public relations. Also announced were re-elections: G. R. Milburn president, Fred H. Dressler first VP, Radford S. Hall executive secretary. New second vice presidents named: John Armstrong, E. S. F. Brainard, Robert O. Johnson, Brooks Koegh, J. Wells Robins. Additional resolutions urged tighter federal spending, a 1975 2000 foods study with public report by 1961, a Packers and Stockyards Act amendment for voluntary cattle sale deductions, and vaccination as an alternative for cattle re-certification in brucellosis cleanup. The association pressed land acquisition limits for federal agencies and local county consent for game and fish land purchases with tax-in-lieu payments. Dallas won the 1960 convention site over Salt Lake City, Houston, Chicago and Tampa, with temperature notes of 65 in Dallas and near zero in Omaha.
