Coyote Is Slain by Farmer and Dog Near Sidney

A large coyote was killed several miles southeast of Sidney after a farmer, Walter Troy, used a pitchfork to finish the struggle when his old farm dog held the animal in a powerful bite. The coyote appeared to lead a pack, and the dog’s grip enabled Troy to dispatch the animal for a fine skin. In a separate note, IWW members, starved after three days of dry bread, were chained to coal cars but chose to work when the officers supplied chains and then removed them.
