Morrison Urges Repeal of All State Taxes
Lincoln governor Frank Morrison urged legislators to repeal all state tax laws for a fresh start in a coordinated tax system. He said the current system yields patchwork legislation and favored starting over rather than patching existing rules. Morrison spoke to the Committee on Education amid a petition drive seeking an initiative to abolish the property tax. He insisted the repeal would allow a logical, philosophical basis for a new revenue framework.
