The January 1 1870 proceedings show the board meeting at 10 a.m. with Commissioners Parkinson Walrath and Van Tansell. They ordered a jail room and furniture, and for a plan of jail repairs with proposals for materials. Several bills were approved for painting printing rent and judge elections. A bond for a justice of the peace was approved and the afternoon session listed further bills, a disallowed item, and a report of fines collected by Frederick Glover for 1875. The board adjourned to January 31 1876 with county clerk C K Allen authenticating.
