Prisoner damages jail plumbing in Sidney incident
Robert J. Helt, 25, of Sidney, faces charges of intoxication disturbance resisting arrest and destruction of city property after smashing jail plumbing including a missing toilet and a broken wash basin. Rites Pending For F Riding
Funeral arrangements are pending for Frank Riding 57 who died Saturday at 1832 4th St Sioux Villa from a heart attack. The Craig Mortuary directs services. A British Army veteran and former coal miner he came to the United States in 1924 after living in England and the coal regions and later resided with his daughter Mrs Martha Hursell. Survivors include two sons George of Wheeling West Virginia Matthew of Rumson New Jersey and two daughters Mrs Hursell and Mrs Maria Mick of Bellaire Ohio.

Driver Leonard Vera Injured in 1956 Nebraska Crash
Leonard Vera 32 of Bayard suffered a dislocated left hip and severe head injuries after a collision. Stoddart was hospitalized in Scottsbluff with head and internal injuries. The fatality raised Nebraska's 1956 highway death toll to eight, unchanged from 1955 on this date.
