George Bailey, a new Democratic candidate for Cheyenne County second district commissioner, filed on Monday. A longtime Weyerts farm resident since 1947, Bailey worked 15.5 years for Marathon Oil before becoming a small farmer. An Illinois native, he served 4 years 8 months in the Air Corps during World War II, spending 1 year overseas on Tinian and much time at Lincoln and Grand Island bases.
