Stork Keeps Busy During Blizzard Rescue Missions
Amid a two and a half day blizzard snow plows and police guided expectant mothers to hospitals. Early Sunday the Mitchells of Gurley welcomed a baby girl after a heroic rescue by Mel Busekist Urban Gau and Dr. Chris Bitner. Later a second birth, a boy, occurred in Sioux Villa helped by nurse Mrs Earl Bishop. Additional calls sent plows to the Meyers and Green homes resulting in two more births and safe hospital transfers. An airlift saved Mrs Hafer four miles northeast of Lodgepole.
