Gathman McVickers No. 1 wildcat northwest of Sidney was abandoned after two dull drill stem tests. Stanolind Oil and Gas disclosed two new producers Leafdale A-4 and Olsen No. 1 in Banner County Harrisburg Field. Leafdale yielded a 21-foot core deemed good looking.

John Siedel Dies At 74 In Sidney Neb
John Siedel age 74 died yesterday morning at a local hospital after a two month illness. Born March 6 1881 in Morrowville Kansas he farmed in West Sidney Draw before retiring to Sidney three years ago. He married Elizabeth Kielhofer on May 8 1906 in Fairbury Nebraska. Surviving are three children and several siblings including Mrs Frank Mick and Pvt Alfred Siedel US Army. Funeral services set for 9 a m Saturday January 8 at St Patrick's Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
