Ample Seed Supplies Predicted for 1945 Crops
State seed analyst R. C Kinch reports ample supplies of legumes alfalfa sweet clover and red clover with shipments from Nebraska continuing. While cats bromegrass and barley seeds appear plentiful sorghum and sudan grass seeds are scarce and prices for forage and grain sorghums rise. The Office of Price Administration removed seed price restrictions but prices did not markedly change. A 1945 vegetable seed production survey shows no major shortages. Nebraska's new seed law effective last August sets minimum germination standards for all vegetable seeds.

Sidney American Legion Post No 17 invites sealed bids to purchase and remove the frame house at the southwest corner of 10th Avenue and Linden Street known as the old Mac Radcliffe home. Bids accepted by Adjutant W D Harte until 5 PM Friday January 18 1946. The buyer gains improvements including electrical and plumbing but must remove the building by March 1 1945. The home is a Sidney landmark with a famed yard.

Five Hurt in Head On Crash South of Sioux Ordnance Depot
Five people sustained injuries in a head on collision on a paved road south of the Sioux Ord nance Depot entrance gate about 3 am Tuesday. Drivers were Robert M. Ivie 40 of Sioux Villa and William B Snyder 22 of Potter. Snyder had an injured leg, Ivie only minor bruises. Injured others included Mrs Ivie Delmar Oeltjen Delores Darnstadt and Viola McFadden. All were taken to Taylor Hospital. A second collision Wednesday on highway No 30 east of town involved Frank J. Policky 17 and Ralph E. Garrison. No injuries but Garrison’s car damaged.
