Hans Gunderson, longtime Kimball county resident and original purchaser of Dix townsite, died at his Dix home from a heart attack on Sunday. A 58 year settler, he helped build Dix schools and a modern highway system, and owned multiple local buildings. He served as county commissioner and was a prominent real estate owner in Dix and Union precincts.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Joe Disney a prominent Lodgepole resident. The Rev Raymond Miles officiated and burial was in the Catholic cemetery Gehrig Funeral Home directed pallbearers were August Namath John Fraass Henry Fraass Frank Vosika Otto Christensen and Ed Waite. He is survived by his wife five children including a step son seven grandchildren and one brother. A son and two brothers preceded him in death. Disney died of a heart attack last Wednesday. He had lived in Lodgepole since 1910.
