Pioneer ranchman Frank H. King Dies After Illness
Frank H. King of Cheyenne and Morrill counties dies at 68 from organic heart trouble. A Wisconsin born pioneer who lived in Nebraska since the 1870s, he farmed and ran the Brown Creek Ranch. Survived by Grace C. Raynes King and six children, with a large funeral at home led by Masons and a Greenlawn cemetery burial.

Matter of Light and Healing to be Seriously Taken Up Sidney Neb Feb 19 1915 Board of Village trustees met in regular session Present J Jo Mc Intosh Chim J J Parks Gus Wellner trustees and Leslie Neubauer clerk Journal read and approved Moved seconded and carried that the Board of Village Trustees of Sidney have an advertisement in the Sidney Telegraph calling for bids for the erection of Electric Light and Steam Heating Plant said bids to be opened March 19th 1915 Ordinance No 129 an Ordinance providing for the examination and investigation of buildings by Fire Commissioner to guard against fire or accident was taken up and read for third time all members voting in the affirmative the Chairman thereupon declared said Ordinance duly passed and approved Ordinance No 138 an Ordinance providing for a license and issuance of a permit for all transient merchants to do business in Village of Sidney Neb and imposing a license of 50.00 per day for violation thereof was read 2nd time on its passage all members voting In the affirmative A petition signed by legal voters and free holders asking that the Board submit the proposition of License or no License at the next municipal election was presented to the Board Said petition was accepted by the Board and placed on file Bill of A R LeSueur in the amount of 112.96 for material furnished was read and allowed and clerk instructed to draw warrant for some No further business appearing Board thereupon adjourned

School Month Beginnings and Debate Recap
Children five and older enter school during Mareh and March begins on Monday. A September entry for beginners was noted. A preliminary high school auditorium debate addressed whether the United States should own and operate railroads. Clarence Wright and Francis Herbert spoke for the affirmative. Loretta Walker, Harold Rowan and Goldwin Doran for the negative. Judges favored Wright, Doran, and Herbert, but no majority due to uneven sides. A declamatory contest looms for Friday March 12. The public school entertainment drew about 500 in attendance with 86.95 dollars in receipts from 285 twenty five cent tickets and 157 ten cent tickets, plus many admitted without tickets. Ed Brennen and Mr Bentley aided, and the Mandolin Club, led by Dorothy Hart, Goldwin Doran, and Alford Bentley, provided music. A coronet solo by Blaine Giabill delighted patrons. Emigrant Cars Arrive Over U P To Lincoln Area
Saturday evening two emigrant cars arrived over the U P and were transferred with one to Lorenzo and the other to Herdon for unloading. This shortened the haul over muddy roads for the owners. Mr Dolan of Otoe town owned the latter and has settled in Sidney draw. Phito Potter, also of Otoe, went to the south divide. D R Jones introduced this country to the newcomers and helped them locate.
